New Line Home Entertainment's A History of Violence snagged the top spot on the DVD rental chart its first week in stores, but the Oscar-nominated crime drama wasn't quite able to topple Warner's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire from the No. 1 position on the DVD sales chart.

The Hollywood Reporter says, in its second week in stores, the fourth film in the Harry Potter franchise still managed to outsell Violence, which stars Viggo Mortensen and William Hurt, by a margin of nearly 2-1.

Also new on VideoScan's First Alert DVD sales chart for the week ending March 19: Warner's Good Night, And Good Luck. debuting at number 5, and Lionsgate's direct-to-video Barbie: Fairytopia, which bowed at number 6.
