In the days that followed, Ronald Defeo confessed to methodically shooting his parents and four siblings while they slept. He claimed "voices" in the house drove him to commit the murders.

 "Saying this version of the Amityville Horror is based on a true story is like saying I’ll actually get laid in this lifetime. It’s a bunch of horse manure. Still, it serves its purpose as a piece of Horror Entertainment. Its flaunted intentions shouldn’t be taken any further than that."
