 |  |  | | | A seismic activity researcher, Harry Dalton (Pierce Brosnan) who has tragically lost his wife in a volcano, heads to the Pacific Northwest town of Dante's Peak to investigate seismic activity.
Harry is alarmed to find evidence of forthcoming catastrophic eruption. He appeals to the skeptical Mayor, Rachel Wando (Linda Hamilton) and townspeople to evacuate but is initially rebuffed as no one wants to leave. As Harry urges exodus, he must also rescue the Rachel's two kids who have gone closer to the volcano to attempt to rescue their grandmother. it is a race against time as Harry and Rachel rush to rescue the grandmother and the children before the volcano blows. |
