Superman Returns Nominated for Visual Effects Oscar

Superman Returns has been nominated for an Academy Award in the category of "Achievement in visual effects". The film is running against Poseidon and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and the winner will be announced at the 79th Annual Academy Awards telecast on Sunday, February 25, 2007.

Out of the 24 possible Oscar categories, Superman Returns only received one nomination.
