The Dark Knight's Chris Nolan Named ShoWest's Director of the Year

The ShoWest exhibition has decided to honor another Hollywood figure connected to superhero films. Variety reports that Chris Nolan, director of The Dark Knighthas been named ShoWest director of the year. The award will be presented at the upcoming ShoWest exhibition in Las Vegas.

Nolan's previous film credits include The Prestige, Memento and Batman Begins.

Nolan will receive the award at the closing night banquet for ShoWest on March 13. The confab begins three days earlier on March 10.

The Dark Knight opens on July 18, 2008, and stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart and Maggie Gylenhall.
