Jennifer Hudson to Debut in Dreamgirls

Variety reports that Jennifer Hudson, a former cruise-ship thrush who made her name on "American Idol" and will make her film debut in DreamWorks' upcoming Dreamgirls tuner, has been named ShoWest's female star of tomorrow.

Hudson is at work recording her first album, which will be released sometime this year.
