Special effects wizard Randy Westgate will be creating the special make-up effects to create the Blob for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. According to X-Men Films.net, Westgate is working specifically with actor Kevin Durand who is reportedly slated to play the Blob in the film.
Westgate has been nominated for eight primetime Emmy Awards, and has won three awards from the Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild. Westgate's credits include The Hottie & the Nottie, Mad TV, Red Dragon and Fight Club. He also served as Edward Norton's makeup artist for The Incredible Hulk.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine explores Wolverine's early days, before joining the X-Men. The film will cover Logan's early life, and his involvement with the mysterious Weapon X program. The film stars Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Dominic Monaghan, Danny Huston, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, will.i.am, Daniel Henney, and Lynn Collins. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is due to arrive in theatres in 2009.
