In an interview with The Chicago Tribune promoting I Am Legend, screenwriter Mark Protosevich revealed a little bit about his script for Matthew Vaughn's Thor.
"There used to be a segment in the Thor comics called Tales of Asgard -- and it's much more akin to that," Protosevich said. "It really is set in that world. It does deal with Earth. The primary focus we're taking on it is really all about the Norse myths."
Protosevich says that production will begin once the WGA strike is completed. The writer further says that audiences will be "pleasantly surprised" with the interpretation of the Norse Thunder god. Protosevich has a reason to care about the character being handled properly, since he is a big fan. "I was a comic book kid. Thor was my absolute favorite."
Thor, directed by Matthew Vaughn, plans to begin shooting in late 2008.
