WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY (2007)

"Totally funny but if you haven't seen it yet wait for the DVD. "

I finally saw Walk Hard. I meant to see it when it opened but then like Juno came out and then some other stuff and one time I was going to see it but Boone couldn't go and he loves Apatow and those guys so I figured that I'd wait and well, I finally saw it. It's funny man. It's totally funny. The music is cool and there are a lot of cameos. Dudes pretending to be famous rock stars.

Jack White is Elvis. Frankie Muniz is Buddy Holly, Jack Black plays Paul McCartney, uncredited. That sort of thing. Every time someone pops up it's funny. I think that I like Jack White's Elvis the best. He plays him all slurring and wasted. He makes no sense and threatens Dewey with a karate chop that can slice a man in half, which funny enough is a reoccuring theme of the film. Halving.

While still a young boy Dewey chops his brother in half with a machete. This horrible memory drives him to the top. Now he has to be twice the man that he was supposed to be. Cause his bro is all dead and whatever, he has to make it for the two of them. I laughed like a mother when all of a sudden his brother is laying halved and on the floor of the Cox family barn.

So anyway, Dewey makes music and become super huge. Like one of the biggest stars of all time. He plays and meets all the greats through history. I mentioned some of them earlier. blah, blah, blah. I have to be honest. I don't really feel like reviewing this movie. It's been out for awhile now and at this point, I mean most of you have either seen it already or are going to wait till it comes out on video right?

There are new and more awesome movies coming out each week. This week is There Will Be Blood and then next week is Cloverfield and no one is going to go and see Dewey Cox when Cloverfield is opening. That'd be stupid. Wait for the dvd and the inevitably awesome new material. They always pack these guys with bazillions of new scenes and sometimes original new skits and stuff. There you go. That's my advice to you.
