JASON GOES TO HELL: THE FINAL FRIDAY (1993)

"Suck It! You Know What I'd Like To Do To You? I'd Like To Take A Crap Right On Your Fuckin' Mask! A Big Old Mango-Sized Crap! "

A couple of years ago on AMC they did a Friday the 13th Marathon on Friday the 13th, respectively. I watched all the movies and thought that they were amazing (except for Jason X of course). Including this one. I really liked it. But of course, I was a little kid and I thought every movie was amazing. I recently rented all of the movies and liked only 5 of the 10 films. This is #5.

The film is directed by Adam Marcus (who??) and written by Jay Huguely, Adam Marcus, and Dean Lorey (once again, who??). But they all did (on a scale of 1 to 10) a 4.5 job. I mean it is a good film and a good idea to finally kill Jason but it was a bit mediocre at points.

Plot:

Jason is doing the thing he does at Crystal Lake but little does he know that the F.B.I. has set up a sting operation. They shoot him and then blow him up. Later at the morgue, a coroner is somehow hypnotized by Jason's beating heart (which is the same heart that gets the pencil stuck in it in From Duck Till Dawn) and begins to eat it. Mmmmmm.....serial killer. Somehow, this causes him to be possessed by Jason's spirit via a demonic snake-type-thing (I call it the Evil Sperm. LOL). Throughout the film, the Evil Sperm possesses a whole slew of people and a lot of people die, as always. Later, at the Voorhees house the Evil Sperm has formed into some sort of Hellbaby (WTF?) and crawls into some dead chicks vagina (Deal with it I said vagina LOL) and is reborn as the full grown up JASON. Hockey mask and all. So he gets into a fight with this guy, gets stabbed and dragged to Hell. Happy ending? Oh no, Jason's mask is in a desert somewhere and all of a sudden Freddy Krueger's hand comes up out of the Earth (Hell) and pulls down the mask. Terrific =).

Kane Hodder returns as the one and only Jason Voorhees. He is my favorite Jason.

The rest of the cast sucks.

I actually really liked the visuals in the film. Especially with the Evil Sperm.

Body Count=28

Next up is Part 4: Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan

"...crawls into some dead chick's vagina"
lol

Kane Hodder is the best Jason. You forgot to mention the continuity error between VIII and IX (this one), where it is not explained as to how Jason is not a young, mutated boy anymore like how VIII left it off. And also about the Voorhees bloodline + the Voorhees Dagger, etc. As well the true origins of Jason. But I agree it was a good idea to send Jason to Hell, as pretty much every mystery of Jason is explained in this movie in quite an artistic (and graphic!) way. Isn't this also the only Friday where the kids actually GET to have sex BEFORE they are killed? Actually, no wait... Part III...

Again, great review. I was about to do these films, too, though my reviews are in much greater detail, but stopped to do my comic book films first. I am going to come back and do these, though. I like reading your thoughts on these films. I see you're doing them backwards for profile order, huh? Keep em comin'.

Peace

I loved this movie, and the set up for Freddy vs. Jason, that wouldn't pay off for a decade. Reading your Jason reviews might actually inspire me to do mine. Keep em comin. Can't wait for part 4. Did you review FvJ yet??

Great review, I think you gave this film the same rating that I did, when I reviewed it.
