PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END (2007)

"Why is the rum always gone?"

This is truly a remarkable, and unique way of ending this beloved trilogy. I was supposed to have gone to see this movie in theaters, but my plans kept falling through every time I came up with them. However, when I was finally able to buy this DVD I was gripped and pulled into the story as I have been with the previous two.

Johnny Depp reprises his role for the last time as Captain Jack Sparrow, and once again, even more used to the role this time, he does brilliantly. His character has even more jokes and puns, as he must play a delirious Jack Sparrow, after being eaten by the Kraken and betrayed by Elizabeth Swann. He is reunited also with his father for a brief and entertaining scene, who is played by a surprise addition, whom I will not say. He turns out also to be one of the Nine Pirate Lords.

Barbossa, played by Geoffery Rush again, and he does wonderful, and makes a surprise return at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, must find Jack Sparrow to awaken his plans of stopping the British Royal Navy, who now have control of Davy Jones, and his ship The Flying Dutchman, thanks to Commador Norrington.

Keira Knightly also reprises her role as Elizabeth Swann for the final time, who in this one is now a complete pirate, even becoming the King of the pirates. She must help Barbossa to retrieve Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones' Locker, to put her heart at rest, seeing as how it was her fault he was there.

Orlando Bloom also returns for the last time as Will Turner, and he must save Jack so that he can give him to Davy Jones and save his father from the frip of Davy Jones. Will Turner also has a very surprising twist to the ending that is also a surprise I do not wish to ruin for you!!!!!

Davy Jones also returns played again by Bill Nighy, and is done even more menacingly now that he is being controlled by a mere mortal. The story of this one was sort of confusing, but it was still gripping and fast-paced just as the previous two were, and I especiall enjoyed the humor of Jack Sparrow in Davy Jones' Locker as he was going insane.

This movie also has finally put some story into the Mysterious Tia Dalma, who helped Jack Sparrow in the last one by giving him some dirt to keep him safe from Davy Jones, and we find out that she is the love of Davy Jones, that caused him to become what he was, and we also get Davy Jones' back story which was also really cool. We also get another surprise about Tia Dalma, that you'll have to watch the movie to discover because I will not spoil it.

Gore Verbinski directs for the last time his Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy that he truly did wonderful with, and I hope to see more equally gripping films from him. The visuals in this movie were also great just as they have been in the previous two films. Especially the CGI used on Davy Jones and his crue, which has some new additions, like a half eel half man creature that was interesting. Also all the ships and the looks of the different pirate lords when we meet them all at Ship Wreck Cove for their war discussion. The fight scenes and the whirlpool ship battle were equally entertaining, and awesome to see.

All in all I believe this was an excellent way to end the series, and I'd say that this is also another must have DVD!!!!!

The ending to it sealed the deal for me that Jack Sparrow is a bonafide badass. I couldnt find much wrong with this movie, and apparently you couldnt either. Nice review.

Excellentay!!!! Another great review which captures the plot and comedy of the film. 2 back stories featured with 1 left unclear... After reading the review, fans must see the film and figure out what I mean by that myself! In the meantime, read this review! It's awesome, and also reads like a fast paced novel! Just like the film is. A great story and interesting plot elements that all will love!
