"A top-notch thriller"
I had surprisingly heard bad things about this movie, so for the longest time, I never got it. But one day, I said "why not" and asked the manager of Blockbuster if it was good, he said it is a must-see! So I did see it, and was VERY glad I did. It was an awesome thrill-ride of a movie.
When I first saw the child actors come on the screen, I was scared that they would make the movie fall apart. That was not true. They made the movie better in fact! The kids were very good actors, and I am sure they have been in other things, but nothing I have seen. They should get more roles, because they are the best child actors you can get! Not just the kids did an awesome job, but so did Bill Paxton, who is the father of the 2 boys. One night he comes to their bedside, and tells them that God has told them that there are demons walking the earth, and they have to destroy them. Matthew McCaunghey, who I really don't normally care about, I am starting to like him a little more. He's kinda a off, on actor for me. But he does a great job in this too!
Bill Paxton makes his directing debut. I hope to see more from him in the future, because his vision of these events is genious. I have always though it would be hard to act in a movie, and direct it at the same time, but it seems like more and more actors are doing it, so maybe it's not as hard as I thought.
So, this is an awesome movie, that is a must see! Great story, and acting, and direting make the movie work. You may be thinking that a movie like this may offend you and your religion, whatever that may be, but let me tell you, it didn't do that for me. Oh, and atheists will think this movie is stupid.I really recommend this movie as much as I can.
