"Ok, so maybe it's flawed; but I still enjoyed it."
Well, I hadn't ever really heard of this movie until a review was posted on this site, saying it was terrible. I am not saying that is what made me want to see the movie, but what I am saying is that it made me want to do more research on it. I found out that it starred Mark Wahlberg, who I like, and Reese Witherspoon, who has a cute face, but isn't a favorite of mine. I also found out that the plot was interesting, and went sorta like this-
Reese Witherspoon is on a luch break from school at a sports bar. But then she sees Mark Wahlberg playing pool. She is intrigued by him, and wants him. But she leaves the sports bar with nothing more than a stare from Wahlberg. They soon meet again at a club, and start dating. Witherspoon thinks she has found the perfect man, and loves him soooo much. But the father has this... feeling about him that he doesn't like. They soon find out that Wahlberg is not such a nice guy after all...
Ok, so it's a little Fatal Attraction meets Swimfan. But out of the 3, I would have to pick Fear. It has some plot holes that I couldn't explain unless I put spoilers in my review. But I still enjoyed the movie nonetheless.
Mark Wahlberg is at the top of his game as a psychotic boyfriend. I never really thought of him as a psycho, but he does the part so well. You really believe that he is a nice guy at first. Then he takes a totally different direction. And like I stated before Reese Witherspoon is not a favorite of mine, not because she's a bad actress, but because I have not really seen too many of her movies. But did phenomenal in Walk the Line. While any old actress could have played her role, I thought the chemistry between her and Wahlberg was believable.
Overall a decent flick, that is not flawless, but entertaining enough to keep you interested. Just keep on reminding yourself that the television can't hear you, and you'll be fine.
