"How to Lose Friends and Alienate People" is funny all thanks to the comic genius of Simon Pegg."
"How to Lose friends and Alienate People" will keep you laughing from beginning to end with some outrageous scenes and funny actors.
The movie finds Sydney Young, a British celebrity journalist, just being offered a job at Sharps magazine by the owner of the magazine, Clayton Harding played by Jeff Bridges. He of course takes the job and he is off to New York. He meets up with Alison Olsen at a bar not knowing that she will be his co-worker at Sharps. He insults everyone even the celebrities. The gags start there and the hilarity ensues.
The story is predictable with only a few surprises. It has a funny script based off the novel by Toby Young which is loosely based on his experiences.
The acting is wonderful. Simon Pegg of "Hot Fuzz" and "Shaun of the Dead" fame is terrific. He makes you like his character who at times is an arrogant jerk to everyone. Kirsten Dunst is great too, having good chemistry with Simon Pegg and making their relationship believable. Megan Fox is nice to look at and her acting chops are showed off here.
Director Robert B. Weide does a nice job. I never really heard of him so he impressed me here.
The visuals are OK. The insane fighting scenes are somewhat realistic.
So if your looking for some comic relief "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People" should be your pick but see it quickly because it will be out of theaters soon.
