"Forget Sarah Marshall??? I think not!"
FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL... will not be easy. Rather than go into a full-on review i'll just list my thoughts on the film:
1) judd apatow is king of comedy and FSM is another shining piece of cinema to his empire.
2) jason segal is a STAR now. he wrote a good screenplay (few misses but who am i to pick on it), shows great range, and bares all... literally.
3) kristen bell can ACT. i've been wary of this pretty blonde after some of her film roles but the range of emotions she shows in this is amazing- from sweet, to serious, to emotional... she was full of surprises.
4) mila kunis proves shes more than THAT 70's SHOW.
5) the apatow regulars are HILARIOUS in this.
6) Russell Brand stole the movie as Aldous... he is one funny and COOL motherfucker.
6) the COUNT DRACULA musical was one of the coolest, simplest, catchiest things i've ever seen in a comedy... or film for that matter.
7) this film is funny. i still see KNOCKED UP as the golden child of Apatow's but this definitely comes second. this film captured break ups and all sides of a break-up perfectly. the film is funny, touching, emotional, and sweet, and than crudely funny again. and what i liked most is that all the characters are relatable and likeable; which is not the norm in these kind of films because there is always a bad guy in romance/comedy films and its refreshing and new to see a film where we actually just root for everyone to be happy in the end.
8) i loved it and can't wait to own it on DVD.
FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL will not be easy.
i give it a B+
