Actors are Eric McCormack as Will Truman, Debra Messing as Grace Adler, Megan Mullally as Karen Walker, and Sean Hayes as Jack McFarland. The show was directed by James Burrows and written by David Kohan and Max Mutchnick.
Guest Cast includes, Gary Grubbs as Will's wealthy client Harlin Polk. Tom Gallop as Will's old college friends Rob. Also staring Leigh-Allyn Baker as Grace's friend Ellen. Rob and Ellen were a couple who would marry later in the series and have a child. Four other guest spots were Will Radford as Patron #1, Jimm Glannini as Gino, Ellen Idelson as the voice of Ellen, Will's office assistant, and poker buddy Jurgen Franzblau played by Todd Eckert.
Scene one cuts between Will and Grace's apartments. Will is watching TV and talking to Grace on the phone. At this point Grace is still living with her fiance Danny.
Scene two is set in Will's apartment and he, Jack, Rob, and Jurgen are playing poker. Jack is also an old friend of Will. Jack is getting ready to temporarily move in with Will.
Grace barges in the door after a fight with Danny. This sets us up for scene three.
Scene three also set in Will's Apartment with he and Grace cleaning up after the poker game. Grace who is an interior designer tells Will she lost a big client. That was the bulk of the fight she had with Danny. He was not sympathetic to dilemma. Danny also insulted Grace by telling her she was just like her mother.
Will tells Grace she can spend the night at his place. Jack knocks on the door and comes in carrying his caged parrot Guapo. Will tells him that Grace is upset so he invited her to stay the night and Jack could not move in until tomorrow. Jack goes into one of his tantrums that will soon become a staple of the show.
Scene four is set in Will's law office. He is meeting with his very wealthy client Harlin. Will is talking to Harlin about what he needs to do to acquire a corporation. Will's assistant buzzes to tell him Grace is on the phone. Grace asks if she can stay another night at Will's apartment.
Grace is calling from her office and we are now introduced to her assistant Karen. Karen will also become an important part of the show in the next few episodes and throughout the series. The play between Karen and Jack also gets better over the next few episodes. At this point they have not met yet.
Scene five we are back to Will's Apartment. Will, Grace, Rob, and Ellen are finishing up dinner. Ellen asks if Will has seen his ex boyfriend Michel since they broke up. Will and Michael had a long relationship that ended in a recent breakup.
Again Jack comes through the door carrying the bird and the luggage. He is told that he'll have to wait another day to move in. We have another great Jack meltdown. He leaves and Will, Grace, Ellen and Rob play a game of $25,000 pyramid. This is their favorite activity seen throughout the series with Will and Grace always beating anyone else that plays.
Grace tells everyone that she is going to break up with Danny. Then she exits to the bathroom.
Scene six is in Will's office as he talks to Grace on the phone. He wanted to know if she broke things off with Danny. She shocks will by telling him that Danny proposed to her.
Scene seven is at Grace's office. She receives flowers from Danny.
Scene eight and nine are set in Will's apartment. Will and Jack are having dinner. They discuss how Will feels he should tell Grace not to marry Danny. He is torn with this decision because he knows it might put a strain on his and Grace's friendship.
Grace enters while Will is watching TV. She tells him that she accepted Danny's proposal. Lying, Will tells her that he is happy for her and gives her his blessing. She gets ready to leave and Will stops her. He says that he doesn't think she should marry Danny. They argue and Grace tells Will to go to hell and rushes out the door.
Scene ten at Grace's office. Will comes in and asks Karen where Grace is. Karen tells Will that Grace is at city hall getting married to Danny. About that time Grace walks through the door in a wedding dress. Will and Grace have another heated argument.
Scent eleven is at Will's office. Grace enters and apologizes for treating Will so badly. They make up and go to the bar to have a drink.
The final scene is at the bar. Will is with Grace who is still in her wedding dress. A bar patron played by Will Radford gives a toast to the bride. The patron chants for them to kiss. They do and Grace says to Will, "Nothing? Anything"? He replies, "Sorry, Nothing."
