Jimmy Smits Joins Dexter

Jimmy Smits has signed on to join the cast of Showtime's hit serial killer drama Dexter.

According to Variety, Smits will star in ten of the 12 episodes greenlit for Dexter's third season. Show returns to the paycabler this fall.

Smits is set to play the ambitious assistant district attorney who comes from a high-profile and powerful Miami family.
